Viroha Cafe ( Temporarily closed )

4.5
A solid tiffin spot with excellent ghee tatte idli and crispy benne dosa, backed by a quality focused kitchen approach.
7 October 2025
I visited Viroha Cafe in Madhapur. I actually found this place after Kshatriya Foods was closed, thanks to the Idli Kottu movie which suddenly made me crave idli.
We reached close to closing time, so several items like Ghee Idli, Mangalore Bajji, and Buns were unavailable. That was completely understandable given the timing.
We then ordered Ghee Tatte Idli, Mushroom Biryani, Special Benne Dosa, Plain Dosa, and Chiroti with Badam Milk.
The Ghee Tatte Idli was soft and fully soaked in ghee. The chutney was excellent and elevated the entire dish. My only personal preference note is that I usually prefer buffalo ghee.
The Mushroom Biryani was served Donne style with well balanced masalas. One interesting detail was that when we asked about reheating, the staff politely mentioned that they do not use a microwave, showing their focus on maintaining food quality.
The Special Benne Dosa looked picture perfect. Crispy texture combined with the chutney made it very satisfying.
Finally, we tried Chiroti with Badam Milk, which tasted very similar to pheni. It was my first time trying this combination and it was a pleasant surprise.
Ambience is simple but comfortable, and the service was good.Total bill came to ₹505.
