Village Organic Kitchen

A satisfying organic style highway meal with flavorful pappu and well balanced pulihora.

13 June 2025

I stopped at Village Organic Kitchen near Koyalagudem on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway to try their veg meal. The place focuses on simple organic style cooking, and the meal turned out to be quite satisfying overall.

The meal started with Double Ka Meetha, which immediately brought back childhood memories with its familiar sweetness and comforting taste.

Among the rice items, the pulihora stood out for its balanced flavor, neither too sour nor too mild. The tomato roti pachadi delivered a nice tangy and spicy kick, making it a strong accompaniment.

If you enjoy good pappu with your meal, this place will not disappoint. The dal had a proper homemade feel and balanced flavor.

Other dishes that performed well included aloo fry, senagapappu vankaya, cabbage fry, tomato charu, and thick gadda perugu, all of which added variety and comfort to the meal.

One small drawback was that service was slightly delayed. Also, considering the organic concept, replacing white rice with brown rice or mudi biyyam would have made the meal even more interesting.

The place itself is very simple without fancy ambience, but it works well as a highway meal stop.

The total bill came to ₹786 for three members, with each veg meal priced at ₹240.
