Vanam South Indian Kitchen & Bar

An interesting thali concept with beer or mojito, good flavors overall, and excellent kodi vepudu.

I visited Vanam in Jubilee Hills to try their Veg Thali, which comes with a complimentary choice of beer or mojito for ₹350. The concept itself is quite interesting and offers good value.
The meal started with papads, followed by Moong Dal Halwa, flavored rice, pachadi, and multiple curries. Overall, most of the items were tasty and satisfying.
The Moong Dal Halwa was a nice way to begin the meal, offering a sweet start before moving into the savory dishes.
Among the curries and sides, the taste was generally good, though a couple of items could be improved. The sambar felt slightly thick, and it would have been better if it was a little thinner for balance.
The Dondakaya Vepudu tasted decent, but it would have been much better with peanuts instead of boondi, which felt like an unusual choice.
One dish that didn’t impress much was the Chepala Pulusu. The fish didn’t absorb the gravy properly, which made the dish feel underwhelming.
On the other hand, the Kodi Vepudu was excellent, especially when paired with the complimentary beer, making it a great combination.
For drinks, we tried both the beer and the Karvepaku Mojito. The beer was enjoyable, and the mojito had a refreshing flavor, though one person in our group didn’t enjoy it as much.
The total bill came to ₹2013.
