Utishta | Pure Veg

A creative veg dining spot with unique dishes and great explanations, though some flavors feel overpowering.

I visited Utishta | Pure Veg, a place known for experimenting with fusion and global vegetarian dishes. This visit turned out to be quite interesting, especially with some unique concepts on the menu.
We started with the OG O Roti, a Nepali inspired dish. It’s quite versatile, you can pair it with Nutella, ice cream, or even spicy curry. Taste wise, it felt similar to ariselu but with a slightly different texture, making it a unique experience worth trying.
Next was the Gongura Broccoli with Hummus, which turned out to be a must try. The tangy gongura coating with crispy broccoli paired really well with the creamy hummus, creating a balanced and flavorful dish.
We also tried the South Indian Thali, and my friend enjoyed almost everything on the plate including curries, pachadi, fry, and flavored rice. The only item that didn’t work for him was the poornam.
The Cut Mirchi Biryani had a good taste initially, but leaned heavily towards the tangy side. Since both the rice and salan had similar tanginess, it became slightly overwhelming after a few bites.
One standout aspect of the experience was the service quality in terms of explanation. The servers took time to explain each dish, ingredients, and even how to eat them, which added a lot of value to the dining experience.
The ambience was good, making it a comfortable place to dine. They also offer Jain options, which is a plus. However, there is no wheelchair accessibility, and like many places, kitchen hygiene is something you should personally check.
The total bill came to ₹2104.
