Sri Srinivasa Tiffin Center

3

A simple tiffin spot where the masala dosa stands out while the poori disappoints.

12 April 2025

I tried breakfast at Sri Srinivasa Tiffin Center in Vanasthalipuram.

We ordered idli, poori, and masala dosa to see how the place performs with basic tiffin items.

The Idli had the typical Kaka Hotel style texture, slightly tangy and firm rather than soft and fluffy. It paired nicely with the ginger chutney, which added good flavor. However, when eaten with the peanut coconut chutney, it didn’t stand out as much.

The Poori turned out to be the weakest dish. It was quite oily, and the curry felt bland, which made the overall combination disappointing.

The Masala Dosa was clearly the star of the meal. The dosa was crispy and well cooked, and the masala filling had good flavor, making it the one item definitely worth trying here.

In terms of service, unlike places like Sampradaya that follow self service, food here is served directly at the table. The seating is basic but comfortable enough, and the service was quick.

The total bill came to ₹170, which included Idli, Poori, Masala Dosa, Tea (₹10), and Water Bottles (₹20).
