Sri Kakatiya Deluxe Mess

4
A consistent mess experience where tomato pappu and classic combos keep people coming back despite the chaos.
26 March 2026
I revisited Kakatiya Deluxe Mess in Ameerpet, and some things haven’t changed at all. Same waiting, same rush, same energy. And honestly, that consistency itself feels comforting.
We ordered the Veg Meal (₹200) and Chicken Fry (₹190).
Starting with the veg meal, the Tomato Pappu was the undisputed star, just like always. It’s one of those dishes that keeps people coming back. The Semiya Kesari was excellent in taste, but getting a second serving? Don’t expect a response.
The Cauliflower curry and Dosakaya meal maker curry were average, but the real magic was in the sides. The Dosakaya Pachadi paired with Cauliflower Karam and ghee mixed podi created a combination that’s absolutely worth the visit.
Interestingly, the Rasam and Sambar stood out more than the curries, adding depth to the meal. If you’re not into curd, you can ask for buttermilk, and they’ll provide it without any issue.
The Chicken Fry came in a semi gravy style with mild spice, and the chicken was tender and well cooked. A solid dish with no complaints.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind. Parking is difficult, and there’s no wheelchair accessibility. Also, like many busy mess setups, you should personally check the kitchen hygiene before eating.
The total bill came to ₹790.
