SORREL - Fusion Vegetarian

Skip the bao, order the dal tadka with jeera rice, and you'll understand why people keep coming back.
27 April 2026
On 27 April 2026, I visited Sorrel Pure Veg in Madhapur after a follower once commented, "Veg sarriga vondale khani non-veg sales padipothayi." Looking at the crowd waiting outside the restaurant, that statement clearly didn't hold true.
We started with the Mutter Kulcha Bao (₹329), but unfortunately, it wasn't the best way to begin the meal. The bao bun was plain, lacked flavor, and felt quite bland, making it an underwhelming starter.
The highlight of the visit was the Dal Tadka (₹349). This was the dish I came for, and it didn't disappoint. The double tadka, when mixed with hot jeera rice, created a comforting combination that I personally never get tired of. The quantity was generous enough for two people.
The Jeera Rice (₹299) was simple, well-cooked, and paired perfectly with the dal without trying to overpower it.
A small detail I appreciated was the use of wet wipes instead of the usual finger bowl, which felt like a thoughtful touch.
The service was slightly slow, although the restaurant was quite busy during our visit.
Valet parking is available, but there is no wheelchair accessibility. As always, kitchen hygiene is something you should personally check before dining.
The total bill came to ₹1089 for two people.
