Shivaji Military Hotel (Permanently closed)

I visited the newly opened Shivaji Military Hotel in Madhapur, Hyderabad to try their famous Donne Biryani. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be disappointing.

The menu was very limited. Apart from Donne Biryani, there were hardly any other items available, and even for the few dishes listed, the staff frequently responded with “not available.”

We had to wait around 30 minutes before receiving our order, which was quite frustrating considering the limited menu.

Coming to the food, the biryani itself was average. The chicken piece felt more like boiled chicken rather than properly cooked with spices, which reduced the overall flavor of the dish.

The mutton piece also wasn’t impressive, as it still had noticeable fat attached, which affected the eating experience.

Another concern was the pricing versus portion size. The portions were small, yet the prices felt high for what was served.

In total, we paid ₹897 for just two biryanis and two cokes, which didn’t feel like good value for money.

Since the restaurant had just opened, my suggestion would be to wait a week or ten days before visiting, giving them time to stabilize their service and menu.
