Serai Kitchens

I tried the buffet at Serai Kitchens in Hitech City. The overall experience turned out to be a mixed bag across starters, mains, and desserts.

Starting with the starters, the Banjara Tandoori Egg Salad felt quite regular without anything memorable. In contrast, the Chicken Salsa Salad stood out with mild spiciness and tender chicken, making it one of the better items in the starter section. Ginger Fish was just okay, while the Veg Spring Rolls were disappointing with poor taste and texture. The welcome drinks were overly sweet and tasted artificial, which didn’t create a great first impression.

In the second round of starters, the Hara Bara Kebab had a crispy exterior but a pasty interior, which reduced its appeal. The Paneer Veg Starter tasted fresh with a slightly sweet and tangy profile, which worked well. However, the Crispy Corn failed to deliver the expected crunch and instead felt boiled.

The main course performed better than the starters. The Dum Ka Soya Bean Kaju Masala was excellent, easily the highlight of the meal. Paneer Tikka Masala and Lehsooni Dal Tadka were average, but the Shadi Wali Bagara Rice was delicious and paired beautifully with the kaju masala.

The desserts section was underwhelming. Items like Muffin, Besan Burfi, and Raj Bhoj felt too basic and didn’t leave much impact.

On the positive side, service was very quick, the ambience felt cosy, and the restaurant provides parking along with wheelchair accessibility.

Overall, compared to other buffets I’ve tried, Serai Kitchens is a decent option but not a standout buffet experience.
