A simple satvik banana leaf meal with homely flavors and comforting sweets.

26 August 2025

I visited Emerald Mithai Shop near Indira Park and ended up having a satvik style bhojanam experience. The visit started with trying their sweets and later turned into a full meal with their Bhale Manchi Bhojanam.

One of the highlights was the Saggubiyam Payasam, which had a well balanced bellam pakam sweetness and tasted comforting. Along with it, we also tried a couple of sweets from the counter.

The Bhale Manchi Bhojanam was served traditionally on a banana leaf, creating a homely dining experience. The meal included paramannam, flavored rice, gare with roti pachadi, podulu based curries, sambar, rasam, and thick curd.

The curd stood out because of its rich and creamy texture. It almost felt like butter when mixed with hot rice.

Overall, the taste felt simple, authentic, and homely rather than restaurant style heavy flavors. Since the food follows a satvik and organic approach, it may not appeal to people who prefer spicy or masala heavy curries.

The overall environment gives a home style dining vibe, almost like eating at someone’s house.

The total bill came to ₹670, which included ₹400 for meals and ₹270 for sweets and payasam.
