Pulivendula to Hyderabad

3.5

A Pulivendula inspired restaurant with fresh food and good service, but pricing feels slightly high for the experience.

9 November 2024

I visited P.H. Restaurant in Madhapur, a place recently promoted by several food influencers claiming to bring Pulivendula style food to Hyderabad.

Curious to see whether the hype was real, we decided to try it ourselves.

We arrived close to closing time, so unfortunately all tiffin items were already sold out. The only snack available was Mirchi Bajji (₹110 for 4 pieces). The bajjis were decent, well fried, and served hot, making them a good start.

Next, we ordered Steamed Rice (₹160). The rice was perfectly boiled and the quantity was generous, but the price felt slightly high for plain rice.

To go with it, we tried Putta Godugula Koora (Mushroom Curry – ₹220). The curry was fresh and decent in quality, though the taste itself was quite average and didn’t stand out.

For a lighter option, we ordered Curd Rice (₹160). The portion was small, but the texture and consistency were well balanced, making it a good comfort dish.

One surprising detail was the water bottle priced at ₹90. However, if you ask for regular drinking water, the staff serve it politely without any hesitation, which was a positive point.

Since the restaurant was almost empty at that time, the service felt quick and personalized.

The total bill came to ₹945.
