This review was part of Homegrown Heroes – Episode 1, a series created to support small businesses making unique food products.
Since starting this page, many small business owners requested support. I spent a lot of time thinking about whether supporting them would be beneficial, whether people might assume it is paid promotion, and how it could affect my credibility. Finally, I decided to support five small businesses that make genuine products.
This episode features MK Millet House, a small business that makes traditional sweets with a healthier twist using millets, jaggery, and ghee instead of refined ingredients.
We tried several varieties including Dry Fruit Laddu, Flax Seed Laddu, Sunundalu, Jonna Laddu, and Ragi Laddu.
The Dry Fruit Laddu, Flax Seed Laddu, and Sunundalu were very enjoyable, with balanced sweetness and good texture. The Jonna Laddu and Ragi Laddu had a slightly unique taste, which may feel different if you are used to regular sweets.
Overall, these sweets felt like a healthier alternative to conventional mithai, especially for people who prefer millet based ingredients and natural sweeteners like jaggery.
The products start from ₹200, making them reasonably priced for homemade millet sweets.
If you would like to support this small business, you can contact them directly through WhatsApp or their website.
