Meesala Raju Gari Military Hotel

We visited Meesala Raju Gari Military Hotel in Rai Durg with fairly high expectations.

We initially ordered Coconut Prawns, but the staff mentioned that their version is actually a Chinese style starter. So we asked them to bring their recommended preparation. At first glance the dish looked a bit unusual, but after a few bites the flavors turned out to be unique, balanced, and surprisingly delicious.

For the main course, we had first ordered Chicken Fry Piece Biryani, while one of us chose Veg Meals. However, once we saw the veg meals plate being served, it looked so tempting that we changed our order to veg meals as well.

The Veg Meals started with a sweet and included items like pulihora, tomato pappu, anapakaya iguru, bangaladumpa fry, bendakaya pulusu, along with other sides.

The highlight of the meal was a special cauliflower karam made with avapindi, which delivered a fiery and flavorful punch. Even the carrot coconut fry, a dish I usually avoid, tasted so good that I ended up taking multiple servings.

The roti pachadi also deserves special mention, while the curd was thick and refreshing, rounding off the meal nicely.

We also tried the stuffed crab, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, making it another standout dish.

However, their Blue Mojito felt quite puzzling, as the preparation did not resemble the usual version seen elsewhere.

Overall, the veg meals here are definitely worth trying, though based on this visit, it is harder to comment confidently about the rest of the menu.
