Lakshmi Prasanna Andhra Mess

4

A budget-friendly Andhra mess with strong traditional flavors and standout hospitality.

29 March 2026

While looking for a festive meal on Sri Rama Navami, the original plan didn’t work out. That led us to Lakshmi Prasanna Andhra Mess, and surprisingly, the backup plan turned out better than expected.

We went for the South Indian Veg Meals (₹150 per plate).

The meal started strong with Chekarapongali and Paravanam, both superb and well balanced. The Pulihora had slightly more tamarind and salt than ideal, but the base flavor still held up. The addition of Pindi Vodiyalu gave a nice traditional touch.

Among the curries, the Mushroom Curry clearly stood out, packed with flavor and well executed. The Tomato Pachadi was above average with a slightly different profile. Pappu was decent, while Cabbage Fry didn’t personally work, so skipping detailed judgment there.

The Rasam, served in majjiga charu style, was excellent, and the Sambar was solid. The meal ended perfectly with sweet perugu, keeping things traditional.

Another highlight was the Panakam served in a large glass, and importantly, no charge for water bottles, which is becoming rare.

What truly elevated the experience was the staff attitude. A simple line, “Want more? Just ask, no hesitation”, made the meal feel welcoming and complete.

There is no parking and no wheelchair accessibility. As always, kitchen hygiene is something you should personally check.

The total bill came to ₹450 (₹150 per meal).
