Kavyam – The Telugu Table - Revisit

2

Good meat curries inside the biryani, but excessive spice, weak service, and poor dessert execution spoil the experience.

25 October 2025

I visited Kavyam – The Telugu Table in Jubilee Hills for the second time, hoping the experience would improve. Unfortunately, this visit also ended in disappointment.

We ordered their Butta Biryani priced at ₹1155 to share.

Inside the biryani, the mutton, chicken, and prawn curries were actually tasty and the meat pieces were well cooked. However, the biryani rice itself was extremely spicy, making it difficult to enjoy the dish. People who love very high spice levels might appreciate it, but for the price, the quantity also did not feel worth ₹1155.

Service became another major issue. Because the biryani was too spicy, we requested plain biryani rice, even offering to pay extra. Despite the request, the staff failed to provide it. Small gestures like this could significantly improve the customer experience, but it was ignored.

To cool down the spice, we ordered Puthareku Ice Cream. Unfortunately, this turned out to be another disappointment. It was simply one scoop of ice cream placed on an open puthareku sheet, without any additional toppings like caramel or dry fruits. For the price, the presentation and execution felt poor.

Overall, service remained below average. The only positives during the visit were the ambience and valet parking availability.

The final bill was ₹1747, but after requesting the removal of the service charge, the total paid came to ₹1667.
