Hawtea

2.5
Good ambience and strong snack items like pakodi and pani puri, but the signature tea fails to impress.
26 November 2025
I visited Hawtea in Khanapur and tried a mix of traditional snacks and tea items including allam bellam tea, sarva pindi, bobbatlu, onion pakodi, and pani puri.
The Allam Bellam Tea priced at ₹99 for 150 ml tasted like plain hot water with a small block of jaggery. There was no proper blend or depth, and it felt more like ginger water. I tried it again by spending another ₹99, but the outcome remained the same.
The Sarva Pindi at ₹99 was served cold and felt very hard. If served hot and slightly softer, it would have performed much better.
The Onion Pakodi at ₹99 turned out to be the best item of the visit. Good quantity and great taste.
The Bobbatlu priced at ₹139 was served hot with a good amount of ghee, but it was not cooked fully. Taste wise it was just okay.
The Pani Puri at ₹69 was surprisingly impressive. Crispy, tasty, and easily the second best performer after the pakodi.
Ambience is really good and service is quick. Valet parking is available. Wheelchair accessibility is not available.
Kitchen hygiene should be personally verified by customers.
