Chickpet Donne Biryani House

4.25

Simple ambience but surprisingly impressive food, especially the prawns roast and donne biryani.

28 May 2025

I initially planned to visit Arugu, but the strong aroma of chicken fry while entering the complex completely changed the plan and led us straight into Chickpet Donne Biryani House.

The restaurant itself had very few customers and a simple ambience, but the food turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

We started with Chicken Kshatriya Kebab. It was perfectly crispy outside and packed with flavor, making it a solid starter.

However, the real highlight of the meal was the Prawns Roast. It was rich, flavorful, and easily one of the best prawn dishes I’ve tried recently. If you visit this place, this is definitely something worth ordering.

Next, we tried the Lollipop Donne Chicken Biryani. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the combination of the lollipop chicken with the gravy worked really well. The gravy and raita served alongside were average, but the biryani itself was very satisfying.

We also ordered the Chettinad Fry Donne Biryani, which was excellent with a strong spicy gravy and rich flavors. At first glance, the quantity seemed slightly less, but it actually turned out to be more than sufficient once we started eating.

Service during the visit was quick and efficient, which added to the positive experience.

The total bill came to ₹1488 for three people.
