Cafe Reels

3.5

A small, affordable cafe where the kova bun and dal shine, but drinks and uggani don’t fully live up to the hype.

25 February 2026

I visited Cafe Reels in Madhapur after hearing claims like “the best kova bun in the world & the best uggani bajji in the world.” Sounds exaggerated, right? But the food definitely had confidence.

The Kova Bun (₹60) was fresh with mild sweetness, and the kova was perfectly balanced. Genuinely impressive.

The Dal Tadka was so good that we ordered it twice. Full of flavor and well cooked. The Egg Bhurji was equally impressive and deserved a second round too.

On the drinks side, both the Banana Shake and Chocolate Shake felt underwhelming, lacking depth in flavor.

The Uggani with Mirchi Bajji was a mixed experience. The uggani felt slightly undercooked, but when paired with the hot mirchi bajji, it worked better. Worth trying once.

It’s a small place but thoughtfully designed. Prices felt affordable. Parking, however, is a bit difficult. Kitchen hygiene assessment is something customers should personally observe during their visit.
