Big Plate Mandi

3.5
Flavorful mandi and excellent fish fry, but small portion sizes and a disappointing dessert affect the experience.
27 September 2025
I visited Big Plate Mandi in Hitech City, a place that earlier gained attention for its “free mandi” promotional buzz. This time, we decided to skip the starters and directly ordered Chicken Juicy Mandi (Half Plate).
The meal started with a welcome soup, which felt average and didn’t leave much of an impression.
The mandi rice itself was flavorful, and the chicken served with spicy gravy was hot, well cooked, and satisfying. However, the quantity of the half plate mandi felt very limited compared to other mandi places. Because of this, we had to order extra rice for ₹200, which increased the overall bill.
Next, we tried the Fish Fry (₹299). This turned out to be one of the highlights of the visit. The fish was tender, fresh, had no unpleasant smell, and tasted very good.
For dessert, we ordered Cream & Cheese Kunafa, but unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. The texture felt floury and there was a strange smell, making it difficult to enjoy.
What worked well during the visit was the overall food quality and service.
The ambience was decent, though the restaurant does not offer valet parking or wheelchair accessibility.
The total bill came to ₹1737.
