Amba Bhavani

4

A flavorful clay pot Champaran mutton curry that delivers a rich and satisfying non veg meal.

2 February 2025

I visited Amba Bhavani Hotel in Kukatpally to try their Champaran Mutton Curry, a dish known for its slow cooking method and strong spice profile.

The Champaran Mutton Curry turned out to be the highlight of the meal.

Traditionally cooked slowly in a clay pot, the mutton absorbs the spices deeply, which makes the meat extremely tender and flavorful.

The curry itself was rich and aromatic, with the spices blending well into the gravy. When paired with a good portion of rice, the dish became even more satisfying and enjoyable.

For ₹429, the dish felt worth the price considering the flavor and portion size. It is especially a great option for non veg lovers who enjoy slow cooked mutton dishes.

Based on the experience, it’s best to visit during the afternoon, when the dish tends to be freshly prepared and served at its best.
