Amaya (Temporarily closed)

2.5

Great ambience and service, but the food fails to match the premium dining expectations.

11 April 2025

We visited Amaya in Jubilee Hills to try a few North Indian dishes.

We started with Tandoori Aloo Nazakat. Visually, the dish looked quite tempting and almost resembled stuffed bajji. However, the taste did not live up to the presentation. The preparation felt odd, almost like a reverse engineered version of aloo, and it completely missed the expected flavor profile.

Next was Paneer Tawa Masala. The masala itself was quite tasty, but the paneer pieces felt slightly raw. A light frying step could have improved both the texture and overall flavor of the dish.

We also tried Boneless Butter Chicken, but this turned out to be another disappointment. The chicken lacked flavor, and the gravy felt overly sweet, which reduced the overall appeal of the dish.

The Rotis and Naans were average. While they were decent when served hot, some of them turned hard after cooling, which affected the eating experience.

Where the restaurant truly performed well was in service and ambience. The staff were attentive, and the overall atmosphere of the place was impressive.

The total bill came to ₹2476, and after a Zomato discount, we paid ₹1470.
