Ahoo Telugu Cuisine

3.5

A traditional Telugu meal with excellent sambar and rasam, but inconsistent curries hold it back.

6 June 2025

I visited Ahoo Telugu Cuisine at Hotel Bloom in Gachibowli to try their traditional style meals. The experience had a nice traditional touch, but it wasn’t without a few flaws.

The meal began with pooranam served with ghee, followed by an Annavaram style sweet, which added a nostalgic start to the meal. Alongside this, a veg biryani with paneer curry combo was served. The perugu vada was extremely soft and tasty, making it one of the standout items.

In the first round, the meal impressed with muddapappu, avakaya, aloo poosa, and roti pachadi. These items felt simple, comforting, and very close to traditional home style flavors.

However, the second round of curries didn’t perform well. Except for the tomato dal, the rest of the curries felt underwhelming. For a proper Telugu meal, a strong masala curry or fry dish usually becomes the highlight, and improving this section could significantly elevate the overall experience.

On the positive side, sambar and rasam were excellent and full of flavor, easily among the best parts of the meal.

The curd looked thick and well set, but it seemed like it was simply scooped into a pot before serving, which slightly affected the presentation and texture.

Service during the visit was quick and efficient. The restaurant also offers valet parking, though wheelchair accessibility is not available.

The total bill came to ₹1299, with each meal priced at ₹379.
